This role will support the development and implementation of long range strategies resulting inline optimization specific to Outerwear, Golf, Women’s apparel and ACC across the UAK Category portfolio. He/she will be responsible for ensuring the most compelling seasonal category assortment execution, balancing harmonized cross-category platform with exceptional expressions. He/she will also partner with the APAC Merchandising Team to drive a consistent approach to the Merchandising function and Go-To-Market activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and aligned segmentation and differentiation strategy & approach for Outerwear, Golf, Women’s apparel and ACC across Categories that optimizes potential for revenue and market share; garner buy-in on these assortments from Sales partners
- Analyze and clearly communicate competitive positioning, local market characteristics, and opportunities
- Engage with Merch Planning team as one same working group to support preseason buy forecast
- Build relationships with APAC/Global Merchants and key functional partners
- Support and engage in pricing strategy
- Own business statistics such as sales history, market trends, key account requirements, competition, product mix and price points – apply this important information during the product management briefing phase
- Make Product Presentation Session in Sales Meetings to deliver Category strategies and product information to FPs, UAK channels, and other customers for Sell In process
- Make Product Training Presentation to deliver finalized strategies and product information
- Maintain a strong understanding of product demand, forecast and inventory levels
- Other duties may be assigned by the Manager of Merchandising
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years of merchandising experience with sport or fashion Retail Company
- Experience in Outerwear, Golf, Women’s apparel and ACC categories is a plus
- Proven ability in merchandising strategies, robust assortment, competitive pricing setting, and sku productivity elevation efforts
- Ability to build commercial input and provide Region Korea market’s insight and product needs
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing across Regional teams and Local Partner teams in both English and Korean
- Demonstrate strong skills in working cross-functionally
- Communicate effectively and influence partners
- Have experience with a variety of go-to-market models (direct to consumer, wholesale, etc.)
- Strong Word, Excel and PowerPoint knowledge
- Fluent in English and Korean
