Immigrant investor schemes for public business
- Invest more than 300 million KRW (Retiree Immigrant Investment)
Those aged 55 or older can invest the principal amount of 300 million KRW in the "Retiree Immigrant Investment" scheme.
Through this scheme, you will be granted F-2 at first, and eligible to change your status to F-5 if you maintain the investment fund and F-2 status for 5 years.
However, this scheme requires that you and your spouse's domestic (ROK) and overseas (home country) assets must be worth 300 million KRW or more when you apply for status change to F-2, and the domestic assets must be worth 300 million KRW when you apply for status change to F-5.
- Invest more than 500 million KRW
If you invest half a billion KRW or more, you will be granted residential status (F-2) which grants you free economic activities, and you will be eligible to apply for permanent residency (F-5) by maintaining the principal amount for the next 5 years.
- Invest more than 1.5 billion KRW (Conditional investment for F-5)
This scheme is also referred to as "Conditional investment for F-5", so if you invest 1.5 billion KRW or more, you will be granted permanent residency (F-5) right away under the condition that you maintain the principal amount for the next 5 years.
If you withdraw part or all of the amount of the investment fund within 5 years, the permanent residency (F-5) acquired through this scheme will be canceled.
